When a visitor enters a property address or owner name in a search box, that entry is sent to the outside provider that returns results. Wirt County Property Records does not keep those search terms on its own servers. A message sent to us includes whatever details the sender chooses to provide, which are used to respond.

The hosting service may record routine server details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and request time. Those logs help troubleshoot service issues and measure site use in aggregate. Basic analytics or advertising tools may also use cookies or similar technologies where enabled.
How We Use It
Information is used to run the reference, resolve technical problems, understand general traffic, and improve page content. We do not sell a visitor list or make profiles of named users from site activity.
Outside Portals and Search Providers
Links on this site lead to the Wirt County Clerk, Assessor, Sheriff, GIS, state agencies, archives, and outside search providers. Each organization sets its own privacy terms. Any details entered on those services are handled under their rules, including information submitted through sponsored search results.
Service Providers and Required Disclosures
Hosting and support vendors process the technical logs needed to keep the site online. Analytics or advertising services may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
The website uses an encrypted connection. Technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no visitor accounts, the site does not hold account passwords or user profiles.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Requests
West Virginia Code Chapter 29B, including §29B-1-3, governs public-record requests to covered government custodians; it does not govern this site’s hosting logs. The sources consulted identify the state Address Confidentiality Program at W.Va. Code §48-28A-103, but not a general consumer-privacy statute for this reference-site data. Since little visitor information is held here, a request can be sent through the Contact page. Deed, tax, and parcel records held by Wirt County or a state office must be corrected or requested from that custodian.
